Why did I choose to complete a residency?
Throughout pharmacy school I found myself constantly seeking new experiences and opportunities to learn. I discovered that I learn best by doing and I hoped to continue my hands-on pharmacy education after graduation. My love for learning and goal of becoming an internal medicine pharmacist drove me to pursue post-graduate training. Residency will provide the unique experiences I need to expand my clinical abilities, helping me develop a well-rounded skillset to care for a diverse range of patients.
Why did I choose Mease Countryside Hospital at BayCare?
I was fortunate to have amazing experiences at BayCare hospitals during my APPE rotations which gave me a glimpse of the welcoming and positive culture that is fostered throughout this health care system. My main priority when selecting a residency program was making sure I would be entering a challenging yet supportive learning environment, so I knew I wanted to begin my post-graduate career at a BayCare hospital. Mease Countryside Hospital checked all my boxes when it came to the learning experiences and opportunities offered, but it was really the people I met during the interview process who sealed the deal. I could tell that each of the pharmacists I encountered cared a great deal about helping residents grow as clinicians and that this would be the ideal place to accomplish my goals.
