Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I decided to complete a residency because I wanted to increase my confidence when making clinical decisions and continue to expand my clinical knowledge in different areas of inpatient pharmacy. I believe these are two key areas that a residency will help a newly graduated pharmacist develop and become a successful clinical pharmacist in the hospital setting.
Why did I choose St. Anthony’s Hospital at BayCare?
I chose St. Anthony’s Hospital because they offer great core rotations, which include cardiology, critical care, infectious disease and emergency medicine. I also wanted to stay within the BayCare health system after completing a pharmacy internship at Mease Countryside Hospital. Being at St. Anthony’s will allow me to see how pharmacies operate individually, which will allow me to adapt to different pharmacy settings.
