Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I chose to complete a residency because I knew the clinical skills I will learn this year will allow me to achieve my short-term goal of becoming a clinical oncology pharmacist. Completing a residency program would allow me to gain experience in multiple areas of pharmacy that I otherwise would not have the opportunity to learn as thoroughly through other pathways. I am looking forward to this year as I gain experience and develop into a well-rounded clinical pharmacist.

Why did I choose Winter Haven Hospital at BayCare?
I chose WHH at BayCare because I could tell right away that they really care about their residents and their pharmacy staff as a whole. It was important to me to complete my PGY-1 residency at a program that values their residents’ learning, challenges them to become strong pharmacists and allows flexibility in their rotation schedule for the residents to take electives that interested them. As someone interested in oncology and cardiology, I was excited to work at WHH with the Cassidy Cancer Center and the longitudinal learning experience at the Heart Function Clinic.
