Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I decided to complete a PGY-1 residency to expand my clinical knowledge and gain valuable patient care experience in a variety of settings. Through my pharmacy practice rotations, I discovered my passion for direct patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration. After seeing firsthand the impact pharmacists had as part of the healthcare team to improve the quality of care provided to patients, I knew clinical practice was the career path I wanted to pursue.

Why did I choose Morton Plant Hospital at BayCare?
I chose Morton Plant Hospital for the variety of learning experiences offered through core and elective rotations, mentorship through strong clinical preceptors, and focus on interprofessional collaboration throughout the institution. During my residency interview, I knew that Morton Plant Hospital would be a great fit for me, as I was able to connect with each pharmacy team member I met and everyone was so welcoming and kind. After speaking with the residency program director and many of the preceptors, it became clear to me that they are truly invested in the success of their residents and take great care in tailoring the program to meet each individual resident’s interests and career goals. I am looking forward to my time at Morton Plant Hospital over the next year and the rewarding opportunities that lie ahead.
