Marissa Aloyo

Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I initially chose to complete a PGY1 residency program for the opportunity to strengthen my clinical knowledge and to gain a variety of patient care experiences. During my PGY1 residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital I had the opportunity to rotate through the Emergency Department which I found to be very rewarding with the ability to make a huge impact in the care of patients. Through that experience, I became inspired to pursue a PGY2 in Emergency Medicine.

Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital at BayCare?
It was an easy decision to stay with BayCare for my PGY2 in Emergency Medicine. With St. Joseph’s Hospital Emergency Department being the 5th busiest in the nation, I knew I would have the opportunity to see a variety of patients. In addition, I knew I would be learning from quality preceptors that have a passion for teaching and the opportunity to truly be part of a multidisciplinary team.
