Why did I choose to complete a residency?
After participating in several institutional rotations, during my introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experience, I knew I wanted to work as a pharmacist in an interprofessional team. A PGY-1 residency will help me to accomplish this and allow me experience new clinical specialties. My longitudinal goals include becoming a board certified specialist and completing a residency will help prepare me for this.

Why did I choose Morton Plant Hospital at BayCare?
The community and culture that BayCare exemplifies is one of the key factors that drew me to apply for residency within this institution. I have known current and former employees of Morton Plant Hospital and they have always spoken very highly of the company and its commitment to the patients and staff. Not only is there a pharmacy residency program within Morton Plant Hospital but they are also affiliated with the University of South Florida medical residents allowing for interdisciplinary learning with these two groups. During my residency interview there was a sense that all of the pharmacist were truly invested in each resident’s professional growth and the structure of the program was individualized to each resident’s interest as much as possible. Experiencing this welcoming, friendly, and supportive vibes from the pharmacy team during my interview is why I decided to choose Morton Plant Hospital at BayCare for my residency.
