Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I I chose to complete a residency because of the passion I developed for clinical pharmacy during my APPE rotations. A residency allows me the opportunity to develop my patient care, critical thinking, and leadership skills so that I can serve as a valuable resource to the healthcare team, and as an advocate for my patients. Furthermore, I yearn to build upon the knowledge gained in pharmacy school in order to make evidence based decisions, and contribute to the field through research initiatives. I chose to complete residency because I want to become the capable clinician my patients deserve and have the skills to contribute to the profession in a meaningful way.
