Why did I choose to complete a residency?
Throughout pharmacy school one of my main short-term goals was to complete a PGY-1 residency. In a constantly evolving profession such as pharmacy, I knew obtaining a residency was an essential first step in pursuing lifelong learning. A residency will give me the chance to enhance my clinical knowledge in various practice areas and help me determine which specialty I would like to pursue.

Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital at BayCare?
I knew St. Joseph’s Hospital had all I was looking for in a PGY-1 residency. Their program allows me to explore my two specialties of interest, Emergency Medicine and Oncology. Since becoming a preceptor is a long-term goal of mine, I’m excited to be given the opportunity to participate in a teaching certificate and work alongside pharmacy students. Lastly, their elective choices are unmatched. I can pursue my interests, gain exposure in areas I want to improve upon and explore different career paths within pharmacy
