Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I chose to complete a residency to solidify and build upon my clinical knowledge. During pharmacy school, I knew that I wanted to be a clinical pharmacist in a hospital, but was not sure about the area of inpatient pharmacy I wanted to pursue. After talking with residents, I realized that a PGY1 was the perfect opportunity to experience various areas of inpatient pharmacy.

Why did I choose Morton Plant Hospital at BayCare?
I chose to pursue a PGY1 residency at Morton Plant Hospital because of the positive experiences I have had as a pharmacy intern there over the last few years. After having the chance to work with some of the preceptors and seeing the opportunities that are offered throughout each rotation, I knew this residency would challenge and prepare me for my career in pharmacy.

Why did I choose to complete a residency?
My drive to make a meaningful and valuable impact for my patients drew me to completing a residency. I knew completing a residency allowed me the best opportunity to solidify my skills, knowledge, and gain valuable experience to make meaningful interventions. Through residency, I will be exposed to an encouraging and comprehensive learning environment, which I am confident will prepare me as I start my career as a Clinical Pharmacist.

Why did I choose St. Anthony’s Hospital at BayCare?
I knew St. Anthony’s Hospital was where I wanted to be after meeting with their Residency team and past residents. I wanted a program that would feel like a family, an exciting and fun learning environment, and had rotations I was interested in. Which is exactly what I found at St. Anthony’s. During my interview, I immediately felt the supportive and welcoming learning environment that their residency team and preceptors had created, and I was confident that a residency at St. Anthony’s would prepare me to be the pharmacist I strive to become.

Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I chose to pursue a residency to ensure I could build a strong foundation of clinical knowledge and hands-on experience so that I can provide the highest quality care to my patients. I seek to enhance my communication skills with other members of the interdisciplinary team and become involved in other various professional development opportunities, such as research, professional presentations, and conferences.

Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital at BayCare?
I was drawn to St. Joseph’s Hospital after experiencing the pharmacy department’s unique, collaborative culture as a student and an intern. The supportive environment here fosters both learning and professional growth. Moreover, the diverse specialty areas available throughout the institution provide the comprehensive training that I need to become a versatile pharmacist. I am confident that St. Joseph’s Hospital will equip me with the skills and experiences necessary to achieve my long-term career goals.

Why did I choose to complete a residency?
One of the main reasons I chose to pursue a residency program was the opportunity to learn and gain experience in a variety of practice settings. I specifically selected a Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency to further develop my clinical skills, gain experience as a clinician, and use those experiences to grow as a leader and administrator within pharmacy and healthcare systems.

Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital at BayCare?
I chose St. Joseph’s Hospital for my residency because of the wide range of experiences and opportunities it offers. With its main hospital and Women’s and Children’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s provides access to diverse healthcare settings and a wide variety of clinical experiences. What also stood out to me was the support and dedication by the preceptors and pharmacy department during the interview process. It was clear that they were invested in the success of their residents and willing to tailor the program to my individual interests as they evolved. With that kind of support and commitment, I felt that St. Joseph’s was the right fit for me and would provide me the foundation I need to achieve my professional goals.

Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I was determined to pursue a pharmacy residency to become a well-rounded pharmacist and gain deeper clinical experience. I have a strong passion for acute care and cardiology, and residency offers the opportunity to gain hands-on exposure in these areas while also exploring other specialties. This broad experience allows me to strengthen my clinical weaknesses and continue learning in a dynamic environment. Additionally, I was drawn to the opportunity for professional growth particularly in leadership and education which residency supports through experiences in precepting, interdisciplinary collaboration, and project management.

Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital South at BayCare?
Ever since I became part of the BayCare family during my first year of pharmacy school, I knew I wanted to continue being part of a culture that provides strong support, fosters growth, and prioritizes treating patients with excellence and compassion. My experience at St. Joseph’s South was particularly impactful, it was there where I fell in love with emergency medicine and realized this is where I wanted to be trained. I am confident that training in this environment will help me become a better clinician and be able to provide the highest level of care to my patients.
