Vivian Carter

Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I pursued a PGY-1 residency to build on my education and clinical skill set to become a well-rounded and capable clinical pharmacist. I have had a great love for clinical pharmacy practice since my undergraduate studies and have known since that time I would pursue residency. During my residency I look forward to learning from other pharmacists with similar interests and fostering interprofessional relationships. I am excited to see how all the experiences of this year form my future career.

Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital South at BayCare?
I was attracted to the BayCare commitment of providing compassionate quality care to the community. It was during my interview that I knew St. Joseph’s Hospital South was the place for me. The preceptors have a genuine interest in our professional growth and competency as pharmacists, tailoring our program individually to our needs. I knew immediately after speaking with the program’s coordinators that completing my residency here would provide me with the guidance and experience I need to provide the same compassionate quality care that BayCare abides to.
