Why did I choose to complete a residency?
My hospital internship throughout pharmacy school and my different APPE experiences helped solidify my desire to pursue a residency and become a clinical pharmacist within the inpatient setting. I felt a PGY1 residency would allow me to build upon my knowledge base from pharmacy school to become a more efficient practitioner. I also wanted a year of training with the support of preceptors to feel fully confident being independent. Overall, the structure and challenges of residency will allow me to become an integral part of the patient care team.

Why did I choose Mortan Plant Hospital at BayCare?
I was interested in pursuing a PGY1 residency within the BayCare health system after having a very positive internship experience at a different BayCare site, and Morton Plant Hospital initially drew me in with the variety of challenging rotations. I enjoyed that the program offered a strong foundation in all aspects of the clinical inpatient setting, but the interview helped solidify my desire to pursue my training here. The staff provided a positive family-like feel and it was apparent that the preceptors were excited to help residents achieve their full potential. Following the interview experience, I knew this program would be a great fit for me.
