Ken Galiotte

Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I pursued a PGY-1 residency to further expand on the knowledge gained from an institutional setting and to gain clinical training. During my residency, I plan to absorb all the clinical facets from my respective preceptors, provide optimal patient care, and build confidence in medication management. I look forward to growing as a clinical pharmacist over the next year while solidifying connections from my educational background and building interdisciplinary relationships across healthcare institutions. A residency is designed to train you in becoming a well-rounded, versatile pharmacist; I aim to take in all the learning experiences and go the extra mile to link various clinical concepts. My goal is to foster meaningful skillsets that I can universally apply as a healthcare professional.

Why did I choose St. Joeseph’s Hospital South at BayCare?
St. Joseph’s Hospital South was a calling I had to answer. Throughout my interview experience, there was a welcoming atmosphere that drew me to fulfilling my clinical training at St. Joseph’s South. St. Joseph’s Hospital South has a genuine personality and morale that I value and with their best interest at heart, I immediately knew that this institutional aligned with my career goals. Some of the rotations I look forward to are Infectious Disease, Medication Safety, Pharmacy Informatics, and Adult Medicine. With its rigorous rotations and expert led pharmacists, this program sets itself apart from others.
