Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I chose to pursue a pharmacy residency because I knew I wanted to become a clinical pharmacist and continue developing my skills beyond what I learned in pharmacy school. I wanted the opportunity to further strengthen my clinical knowledge, gain more direct patient care experience, and learn how to apply evidence-based medicine in practice. The skills, experiences, and mentorship I gained throughout residency are ones I know I will carry with me throughout my career and will continue to shape the type of pharmacist I strive to become.
Why did I choose Turley Family Health Center at BayCare?
I chose Turley Family Health Center because of the support and sense of belonging I felt during my 5-week elective rotation and interview. From the beginning, I felt welcomed by the faculty, residents, and pharmacy team, and I appreciated the culture of collaboration and willingness to teach. The rotation experiences offered at Turley align closely with my professional goals and provide the opportunity to continue expanding my skills in ambulatory care, chronic disease management, and patient education. I knew that training at Turley would challenge me, help me grow as a clinician, and provide the experiences needed to become a confident and well-rounded ambulatory care pharmacist.
