Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I chose to pursue a pharmacy residency because my clinical rotations showed me how much I enjoy practicing in the hospital and working directly with interdisciplinary teams to care for patients. Each rotation challenged me to think critically, apply evidence-based medicine, and continue growing as a clinician. I wanted additional structured training that would push me outside my comfort zone, help me become a more confident and independent pharmacist, and prepare me for a career as a clinical pharmacist.
Why did I choose Morton Plant North Bay Hospital at BayCare?
I chose Morton Plant North Bay because it already felt like home. After completing both my IPPE and critical care APPE here, I experienced firsthand the supportive and collaborative culture. One of the things that stood out most to me was the smaller pharmacy team, which created an environment that felt like a family. Everyone was approachable, willing to teach, and genuinely invested in each other’s success. I appreciated the balance of mentorship and autonomy, and I knew it was the place where I could continue to grow into the clinical pharmacist I aspire to be.
