Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I made the decision to pursue a residency in order to obtain advanced clinical training, enabling me to contribute effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and practice pharmacy at the “top of the pharmacist license.” My goal was to gain a comprehensive understanding of medication management, allowing me to provide optimal care to a diverse array of patients. Recognizing the evolving nature of the pharmacy field, with a growing emphasis on clinical practice, I believed that completing a residency would grant me a distinct competitive edge in securing a position as a clinical pharmacist. Ultimately, my choice to complete a residency is driven by a strong commitment to attaining the highest level of clinical competence and fulfilling my professional goals.

Why did I choose Mease Countryside Hospital at BayCare?
I chose Mease Countryside Hospital at BayCare for my residency based on its exceptional reputation, my positive interactions with the staff, and the alignment of my personal beliefs with its mission. As the leading not-for-profit hospital system in the greater Tampa Bay area, BayCare resonates with my deep desire to serve underserved patients, improve healthcare inequities, and give back to the community. While BayCare’s overall excellence is widely acknowledged, my conversations with the pharmacy team at Mease Countryside left a lasting impression, instilling in me a profound sense of comfort, belonging, and support. I was confident that selecting Mease Countryside for residency would enable me to excel in the next phase of my career and provide an environment where I could truly thrive and reach my full potential.
