Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I chose to pursue a pharmacy residency because I am passionate about continuing to grow both clinically and professionally as I transition into my role as a pharmacist. Residency provides the opportunity to further develop my clinical knowledge, strengthen my decision making, and gain experience in a fast-paced environment. In addition to clinical growth, I was drawn to the opportunities for teaching, precepting, and collaborating as part of the healthcare team.
Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital South at BayCare?
I chose St. Joseph’s-South because of the diverse learning opportunities, including exposure to areas like the pediatric emergency department and NICU, while being part of the large BayCare system for room for continued growth. The resources, collaborative culture, and breath of clinical experiences across BayCare support both personal and professional growth. During my interview, I felt very comfortable and welcomed by the preceptors. Their genuine enthusiasm and commitment for resident development made my decision for SJS easy!
