Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I chose to complete a residency to build upon the foundation pharmacy school provided. Residency provides an avenue to improve my confidence as part of a healthcare team and optimize patient outcomes on a local and healthcare system level. I know residency would impart the necessary tools and continue to build my character into becoming a strong, independent pharmacist.
Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital – North at BayCare?
Prior to residency, serving as a pharmacy intern for BayCare allowed me to witness the care and compassion this healthcare system has for their patients. As a team member, I saw BayCare’s commitment to my development and felt valued as part of a healthcare team. St. Joseph’s Hospital North provides core rotations and electives such as Cardiology and Teaching that support my short and long terms goals. The team at North was extremely friendly and encouraging of my goals to be an excellent pharmacist and team member.
