Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I chose to pursue a PGY1 residency due to my desire to further develop the clinical skills and confidence necessary to become a well-rounded pharmacist focused on patient-centered care. Although a challenging and rigorous year, I am confident that residency will provide me with valuable leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills, while fostering my personal and professional growth as a core member of the healthcare team.
Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital – North at BayCare?
My overall interest in pursuing a residency within the BayCare Health System stemmed from their unwavering reputation for quality care. Specifically, St. Joseph’s Hospital North (SJN) aligned with my goals and interests when considering their robust elective selection in administration, practice management, and teaching. I immediately felt welcome by the SJN pharmacy team and was thoroughly oriented to their daily workflow. I value that the preceptors and my personal mentor are engaged in my learning and always willing to provide guidance.
