Why did I choose to complete a residency?
I chose to complete a residency to help build on my clinical knowledge and gain more experience in the inpatient pharmacy setting. Doing so will help me attain my goal of becoming a well-rounded clinical pharmacist. I appreciate being able to work with other healthcare professionals in several disciplines, to help provide high quality patient care, and I enjoy participating in precepting/teaching and research opportunities.
Why did I choose St. Joseph’s Hospital – South at BayCare?
After attending a residency showcase and speaking with the RPD, I was immediately drawn to St. Joseph’s South residency program as it offers a wide array of clinical rotations that I am interested in such as Infectious Disease, and Women’s Health/Pediatrics. After interviewing with many of the preceptors and residents, I knew this residency program would offer the experiences I need to become a well-rounded clinical pharmacist. The preceptors made it a priority to create an encouraging environment for their residents in order to help them develop professionally and transition smoothly into their roles.
